Sealand Community Council is bidding farewell to its dedicated Clerk, Peter Richmond, who has decided to retire after a 45-year career in local government. His decision follows a long and impactful tenure during which Peter has significantly shaped Sealand’s well-being and development, leaving a lasting legacy.
His departure marks the end of an era in local governance at Sealand Community Council.
Under his guidance, the Council has achieved notable progress and taken a progressive approach to serving the community. Peter has taken pride in the council’s achievements over the last 45 years, attributing them to the close collaboration between Sealand Community Council and Flintshire County Council. He expressed his belief that the Council, with its strong foundation, is well-positioned and
fully committed to continue its mission of improving the lives of the residents, ensuring a bright future
for Sealand.
On behalf of Sealand Community Council, the Chairperson, Barbara Hinds, expressed her profound gratitude to Peter for over 45 years of dedicated service to the Community Council. His extensive knowledge, dedication, and support, which we deeply respect, will be greatly missed.
All the Members of the Council wished Peter a long and happy retirement, expressing their personal best wishes for his future.
Peter thanked the Council for their kind words and compared working as the Sealand Clerk from 2024 to 1978 when he started.
The Chairperson organised a farewell Dinner for the retired Clerk and his wife at the Tudor Rose Restaurant on the 5th day of July 2024, to which all Councillors were invited to attend to show their collective appreciation for Peter’s service.
